The chronologically challenged story makes the bitter taste of "oh-no-not-another-arena-encounter" a little sweeter at the end. But it doesn't do enough to justify packaging itself in a clumsy game.
Bioshock Infinite didn't really need to be a game. It would still be as good, and maybe better.

This represents a step backwards in this series, and I doubt there will be a lot of interest for further Manhunt games, at least for me- and it's a shame because this game had a lot of potential to be something really cool.

GREAT
Applause to you, UBI. You have completely impressed me, and proved a prediction of mine as completely wrong. My hat is off to you guys, and I look forward to more games like this.

It looks like the idea to create and publish such a game came from the fact that Daxter is one half of an established Playstation franchise. It really looks like someone made this game "by the numbers".

GOOD
Overall, if this game doesn't really stand out in the quality of the gameplay it delivers, it at least delivers a lot of it, and a lot of variety in how to approach it. It's as much a toy that you poke as it is a game, there is a good novel in there as well, and you do ultimately get the feeling that its story has some underlying importance beyond providing a backdrop for the game.
