Crytek, the
company I used to work at, has released an ATI demo showcasing what the latest
ATI cards and the next generation CryEngine can do. Read all about this on ATI's
official site (
http://www.ati.com/gitg/promotions/crytek/index.html),
as well as some behind-the-scenes comments by Michael "Emil" Endres -
art guy and martial artist. I saw the demo before I left in August and I have to
tell you that it looked great even then - I haven't seen the final product yet
(doubt my GeForce4Go can take the pain), but if its anything like I have seen,
it will give you a whack on the head and show you how games in the future will
look like.
What is really weird is that people are going - well, it's nothing I haven't
seen before.
What? What games are you playing? My in-depth analysis
revealed that the people actually think this is a video and not a real time
rendering. All I have to say is - press space (or whatever the button to stop
playback and enter free roaming mode is) and check it out.
Good work, guys!
